novel idea ii  is a collection of playful filmic, video/audio sketches. cultivated from within first thoughts, on rising each day. each sketch is executed daily, throughout the month of april. 

theoretically speaking, they represent the equivalent of pages in an artist sketch book. where works of provisional struggle to render ideas and which later maybe discarded or grown into substantial works, are first captured. 

The sketch book is typically a private artist space, in which to free oneself to be whimsical, hyperbolic, recherché, morose and faltering. these origins are not generally meant for an audience. they are the recordings of failures and elementary successes that are usually of little interest to all but the artist them-self. 

tiny capsules of timebased seeded invention, novel idea, begun in 2023. is now part of an annual, month long daily practice of micro germinations combining fancy and fragment.
